Who Drank My Nail Polish?

Hello gentle readers.

Look what landed on my doorstep, today.

Oopsie! Did someone get thirsty?

I ordered Revlon Whimsical from Ulta, since I can't find it in any of my local stores and it came about one third empty. What? It didn't leak in transit. It was just... drained. It hadn't been used; there was no gunky junk on the neck of the bottle, the polish wasn't thickened, it didn't look used. I jumped on the phone to Ulta and told them about it and they are sending out a replacement bottle, right away. So, kudos to Ulta customer service for their fast and friendly attention to my little problem. Bonus? I get to keep the partially full bottle of Whimsical, since it makes no sense for them to send me a shipping label to return it. :D

Have you ever ordered a polish and had it arrive oddly drained of some of it's contents, as if it had been attacked by some odd polish slurping vampire?

  1. That is so strange, but also awesome! It's great that you're getting a replacement! I actually had this same problem two days ago with a yogurt container. 1/3 of it was mysteriously missing (with no signs of tampering)....

  2. Yoghurt vampires?!?! heh heh  Isn't it weird? We probably got the product from the end of a run, or something and the machine/inspectors didn't catch the partially filled vessels. :)

  3. Glitter did it! They put tiny hexagonal inside so it wanted to be bigger so it ate the polish to become bigger (I have no idea where did this come from :)))) Great that you're getting a replacement, now you're having a full size and a third empty back up. :))

  4. I wonder if it was just never filled correctly in the first place. I noticed this with a whole bunch of soda bottles at Target one time. They were all sealed but only 3/4 full.

  5. This is so bizarre!! :O  One time I bought a case of root beer, and one of the cans was completely sealed with nothing in it at all.  :S

  8. I think that is the case. I just thought that it was funny to receive it, this way. As if someone suddenly got thirsty and decided to have a swig. :D

  9. We have had that happen a couple of times. We just take the can back to the store and they replace it. :)

  11. Haha. Yes I understand. I am just such a logical mind. Also, there is an upcoming episode of My Strange Addiction on TLC that features a woman who actually does drink nail polish. Ick!

But really... How can anyone ingest chemicals like that and not get seriously messed up? 0_0

  18. How odd! At least they were very quick to respond and send you a replacement! Much more that can be said for other companies. I've never had this priblem, usually mine just arrive damaged, leaking or previsouly used :(

  22. Ulta's customer service it really good. I am very happy with them, for sure. :D

Damage and leaking happen. I have been pretty lucky, so far but I am sure that one day I will end up receiving broken or leaky polishes. It is just a matter of time. As long as the seller takes care of me, we will be friends. Yes, we will. I ordered an OPI polish from an Amazon seller that appeared to have been previously used. I was not happy. No siree.

  23. I had seen this a few times at the stores. A couple of days ago, I had seen a Sally Hansen Extreme Wear HALF empty. No tampering, no nothing. It just disappeared.

  24. This once happened to me sort of.. I bought a Sally Hansen Mircale Growth polish.. it comes in like an opaque bottle and box. Got it home, opened it up.. COMPLETELY EMPTY. I was sooo sad. But the store replaced it for me! Im thinking it was just missed in the filling process but still it was a surprise!
