Today I have a hot colour that turned into a hot mess. This is Color Club Get Your Lem-On from their Wicked Sweet collection. This is a radioactive yellow green neon with a beautiful, wicked blue shimmer that fires in the sun. This photograph is five coats of polish and two coats of Seche Vite.
Yeah. You read that right. Five. Coats. Of. Polish. You see, I had to apply four to get it sorta opaque and smooth and I applied my Seche Vite then I smudged the hell out of my left index nail. Instead of re doing the nail, I tried to fill in the smudge and added another coat to try to smooth it. I kinda sorta but not really succeeded. But the problem was, my index was so different after that that I had to apply a fifth coat of polish and another coat of Seche Vite. My nails are so thick it is redonkulous.

Look how insanely thick my nails are! lol
Color Club Get Your Lem-On is nice and thick but not gloopy or sticky. It goes on surprisingly easily and sits right down where it is placed. This polish is so easy to control that I was able to paint nail after nail without doing cleanup. The little cleanup I did do was just a tiny bit of fussy refining.
This polish is sheer. Seriously you can apply a thousand coats and still have VNL sheer. It is also pretty streaky. Even after five coats, I have serious VNL and some streaks showing. The next time I wear this, it will be over a base of white polish because five coats is beyond the pale. I prefer two, I will tolerate three, if the polish is fabulous. I don't need perfect opacity but I don't expect this level of sheer or polish that is so streaky after so many coats of enamel.
This polish dries satin matte. Dry time is good, provided half the frakking bottle isn't on your nails at one time. The scent is sharp, acidic and lemony. Kind of like lemon scented dishwasher detergent, Lemonheads and lemon soda, all shaken together. Of the Wicked Sweet polishes I have used so far, this one is the most unusual, that blue shimmer rocks my socks! The best smelling (to my nose) but the biggest pain in my ass. It wasn't all this pretty polish's fault, tho. So it will get another chance to perform in the future.
I need a new white polish. Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear White On was a horror show for me. Sinful Colors Snow Me White is a bit better but still a pain. I am thinking of picking up OPI Alpine Snow. Or maybe China Glaze Snow from last year's Naughty and Nice Holiday Collection. Aw, hell... Maybe I'll just get both of them. :P
Thank you all so much for popping in. Have a great evening and may your polish never bubble.
