Today's pink polish is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Bubblegum Pink. This is a Bubble Yum pink creme with a surprising and quite lovely fine silver white shimmer. I applied two coats of polish and topped it with Seche Vite. The formula is a bit thick, it sits very nicely where you place it. It is a bit streaky on the first coat, that levels out nicely with the second. Dry time is average to long-ish. This polish is a lot more intense and darker than my photographs show. My camera washes out pinks terribly. All photos are, of course, clickable to enlarge if you are so inclined.
I had decided that I wanted to do nail art with today's pink polish, But, what to do that would work on my short nails, enhance but not overwhelm them and of course, be simpatico with bubblegum pink polish? Why, the answer was simple of course...
Hello Kitty! She is perfect for short nails, being cute and sweet and in no way overbearing or intimidating and what else can you really even consider pairing with sugary bubblegum pink? :D
I used my Born Pretty plate and Konad Special Polish in black to stamp Hello Kitty. I really like this plate. I have used it a couple of times, now and I get lovely, crisp images with it every time. I am seriously considering ordering more plates from Born Pretty. I used a little Wet-N-Wild Black Creme to fill in her little nose (Uh... That is her nose? Right? :P) with a fine dotting tool. Then I used a little clear polish to adhere alternating lime green and blue bow shaped crystals inside the bow outlines on their little heads. Then, because I seem to not be able to leave well enough alone and am, apparently the Queen of Overkill, I added little pink flower shaped crystals on the corners under the Kitties. I topped everything off with a good, thick coat of Seche Vite to make everything nice and shiny and to anchor the crystals down well. I have found that Seche Vite is just about the best topcoat for keeping crystals in place. I rarely lose a stone with I use Seche to anchor them.
Outside in the sun.
In the shade. I was trying to get the pink base right but alas... The closest I got was the pic with the kitties in sun. And even then, it is a bit too light. An expert photographer, I am not. lol
So, there you have it, kiddies. My Pink Wednesday manicure.
I am just about ready to draw the winner of my Karmin giveaway. I should be announcing the winner tomorrow. :D
Thank you all so much for popping in. Have a terrific Pink (or whatever colour you are celebrating today with) Wednesday and may your polish never bubble.
The stamping plate and dotting tool used for the design in this post were sent to me by the company for a fair and honest review.
